Roberta Koller's Tip of the Month
A little fabric softener and water left in to soak in a pot over night will remove any burnt on mess.

To polish copper, rub with a half a lemon dipped in a coarse salt.

A mixture of used coffee grounds and water, left to soak overnight in a gallon jug will eliminate fire ants. (So they say)

For a Friend
Craig E. Sathoff

I believe in willows,
Simply for a willow's sake.
It does not fight the wind that blows;
It bends but does not break.

And I believe in friendship,
Simply for a friendship's sake.
It thrives in sunshine and in dark;
It learns to give and take.

I believe in willows,
For their branches move apart
To let the sunshine filter through
To warm a yearning heart.

The willow bears the weather well;
It bows before the wind.
But when the calm subdues the storm,
It stands with pride again.

I believe in friendship,
For, in life's fast-changing scene,
It bows before the cares of life
To rise strong, calm, and serene.

SUNDAY

I do not have to go to church, because today is Sunday.
But when I do I find I have a happier, brighter Monday.

Because I get true inspiration my faith is somehow strengthened,
So I can take the let-down hours my weariness has lengthened.

Of course, I could use all day SUNDAY for only selfish pleasure,
For laundering cloths or getting rest of which I need full measure.

But I must put the worthy things first while I'm on this sod,
For all I do, eventually, I must account to God!

ARE YOU A MEMBER?

Christians functioning as a member of the church must realize that they are important to the work of the church. The church functions like our bodies, if our limbs or joints grow weak, the body suffers, however if they are strong and are doing their work, they support the overall good of the body. We as Christians must support the body of our church, we must do our part.

The difference between going to church and being a member of the body of the church is participation. Going to church means nothing more than getting up on Sunday morning, getting dressed, going to church and putting in your hour or two and then repeating the process week after week. But.. to be a member, you have to participate, "get involved". After service, you would have to meet and greet your fellow parishioners at coffee hour-possibly make a new friend. Volunteer-an hour or two a month, be a greeter or an usher, fold papers for the office staff, teach Sunday school, work in the nursery, help keep the building and grounds clean, work a coffee hour-in other words, "get involved". Like a garden, the church needs loving, tender care, the care comes from you.

The church needs members, not pew sitters. Join your church family and "get involved".
